BioVision: A Visualization Tool for the Life Sciences
What is BioVision
BioVision is a software tool for visualizing simple or complex biological concepts. Although the tool is highly generic, our initial focus is on pathway modelling and connectivity over the internet. Future development will include Sequence visualization and 3D structure modelling.
A "Netscape" for the Life Sciences
BioVision is a superset of a web browser for the Life Sciences. Current web browser technology has many shortcomings due to its static and pixel-based display. BioVision is object-based and combines editing and display in a single user-interface. Object properties goes beyond simple hyperlinking. BioVision follows the Windows design convention and is easy to learn and use by beginners.
